Rain Gutter Protection Systems

Rain Gutter protection systems come in many shapes, sizes, and prices.  Most leaf guards available to homeowners and do-it-yourselfers fail to keep debris out of gutters, the very thing homeowners need them to do.  Gutter protection systems should serve three primary purposes:

  • Protect your home from costly water damage caused by clogs
  • Reduce your home maintenance expense
  • Keep you off the ladder

All About Gutters and Awnings offers a variety of gutter guard products from heavy-duty screen options to the newest and most advanced micro-filtration gutter protection systems.

Choosing the Right Gutter Protection System

  • What is the volume and type of debris that accumulates on your roof?
  • What kind of system will work best with your roof?
  • Do you prefer to have a color choice with your leaf protection selection?
  • What is your budget for a gutter protection system?

Gutter Screens

Gutter screens offer the homeowner with a limited budget an affordable gutter protection option. Gutter screens require a little more maintenance depending on the amount of debris that falls onto your roof and into your gutters.

Micro Filter Gutter Protection Systems

Micro-mesh gutter protection systems like Gutterglove® are completely enclosed gutter guard systems with stainless steel micro filters that promote self-cleaning, and keep the interior of your gutter maintenance free for a lifetime.  The closed system design makes it impossible for debris to enter unlike reverse curve products such as Gutter Helmet, LeafGuard, K-guard, and GutterShutter.

Additionally, the micro-mesh filter keeps pests out of your gutter. Typically, they are pitched with your roof line, which allows debris to shed easily, and they are backed with a comprehensive manufacturer€™s money-back warranty.

Some gutter protection systems, especially reverse curve designs, cannot always warranty against pests like bees building nests and birds forcing debris into gutter protection systems.  Ultimately causing clogging and overflow in your gutter system.  Micro filter gutter protection designs completely close-out animals and pests from entering your gutter systems.

Fire Protection for Your Gutter

Gutter protection systems also offers fire protection for your gutter. Metal roofs and gutter protection are now mandatory for new construction in Placer and Nevada counties.

Debris Free Rainwater Harvesting

Homeowners are going Green and micro-filtration technology should be considered for rainwater harvesting. Filtering water at the gutter guarantees that water collected and stored in a cistern is debris free.

Why We Don't Offer Reverse Curve Systems

Reverse curve gutter systems allow small debris AND large debris to enter your gutter.
  • These systems can be expensive, and they are not effective at keeping debris out of your gutter.  Common reverse curve systems on the market are LeafGuard, K-Guard, Gutter Shutter, Gutter Topper, and Gutter Helmet.
  • Reverse curve systems all work the same way. A piece of metal with a bend on the end of it covers your gutter. The bend allows the water to flow back into the gutter. Surface tension "attracts" the water, causing it to defy gravity and seemingly shed debris.
  • These systems will shed some large debris, but the small pieces flow with the water directly into the gutter. Over time, the small debris builds up, and causes a clog at the downspout.
